the dance of the ink riddled fingers

youth group

Ahh! Remember highschool youth groups? Well tonight I visited our church youth group for the first time since attending it four years ago. Equipt with camera, my mission was to capture a little of what happens amongst our teenagers on a friday night at ACF (for the visual profiling of our church). Suffice to say, the demographic is surprisingly 1/3 anglo white compared to my memories of a couple of halfies in a sea of asians.  Furthermore, some kid who walked in with crutches was jumping by the end of the night.  Smells like progression and growth to me!  Apparently this kid had discovered yesterday he had fractured something by falling wrongly in a game of volleyball earlier in the week. Then, about an hour after Pastor Josh appropriated some mustard seed faith via means of a single sentence, the kid was jumping – first cautiously, then off chairs in a buzz of holy adrenelin.

Things like this make me smile. I love this church. I love my God.
