the dance of the ink riddled fingers

i thought this was love… what with these good-looking jazz band players. Isn’t that all you ever needed?

Am I excited? Am I going to fall in love tonight? Am I going to dance my hips off tonight?

Yes, likely and yes.

They’re called Saskwatch and they’ll be at Cherry Bar tonight. I finish work at 9pm and they’re scheduled to rock my world at 10pm. The rents are on holiday which simply means I don’t have to return by midnight to avoid worrying them – and getting called every hour after (I love how they love me…but).  Tonight is mine, and I’m going to let myself get soggy from an indulgence of disarmingly charming jazz!  I’ll be driving a couple of girls home too, so fret not – I won’t be touching any alcohol. Besides I won’t be needing it (I never do). Especially with the dashing sounds of this band of savvy jazz fingers sending chills up and down my skin – and perhaps leaving a dent or two on my musical heart.  I expect no less than to be heavily under the influence of carefree vibes. Music has immediate effects on impressionable little me – it is often the first base to freedom and after that I’m often lost in euphoria – be it in the car, at church, in my room, at a gig – music is a portal to a different reality.

Oh yes, and you could think this was love too, with a free download of something to curl your lips upwards.  But nevermind this, I find that once I’ve experienced a band live – digital tracks are somewhat void.  But download it anyway! It’s free!

Lastly, I’m with the saxophonist… heh. The cute one the girls always comment to me about – yeah well, I know him. HAHAHA! Just flashing you my “I know that guy, we go way back” card. We don’t really go way back and I don’t really know him know him… but we’ve been acquainted. (Giggle).

Gee I LOVE brass. Trumpets, saxophones, trombones, french horn, you’re the shortcut to my soul.

Melbourne, you’re rain can’t dampen this!
